Congratulations to our 2024 Catholic Woman of the Year, Alice Silverstrand!
Holy Cross is proud to announce that long-time parishioner, Alice Silverstrand, has been chosen to represent our parish as Catholic Woman of the Year 2024! She was honored at a luncheon today (May 8th) at Christ the King church.
Alice has worked in many positions here over the years. While her children were attending Holy Cross School, she was a member of the HC Board of Education and Home & School and served as a room mother several times. She also was a co-leader for Brownie & Girl Scout Troops.
Her roles at the church included being an EMHC, taking Communion to the home-bound, cleaning, and counting money from Sunday collections. Alice also was the leader of a parish Renew group for over 30 years. She served as Secretary/Treasurer as a member of the Altar Society and assisted with the parish festival and funeral luncheons. Alice was a member of the charismatic prayer group and is very grateful for her gift of faith.
Alice and her late husband Larry were blessed with 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, bridge, and spending time with family and friends.
We at Holy Cross are so blessed to have such a dedicated, tireless worker in our parish. Thank You Alice and Congratulations!
