** December 15th Update**

Phase I of the Holy Cross Gymnasium project is complete and looks gorgeous! A BIG thank you to all the dedicated, hardworking people that sacrificed hours and sometimes days, helping us make this project a success.  It seemed like an unattainable goal, but we got it done. A huge shout out to Egan Supply for their beautiful work on the floor and stage!!

Fr. Salanitro blessed the gym this morning in a small ceremony with the kiddos.  There will be another blessing around 6:30pm tonight during the first night of the Holiday Basketball Tournament. All are welcome!

Phase II is next, the purchase and installation of the bleachers, sound panels, and new doors under the stage.  We will need to raise approximately $65,000 so if you would like to donate, please contact the Rectory office at 402-553-7500.

** December 1st Update**

The transformation is really looking amazing!  The roof, ceiling, and lights are finished!  The new floor is being installed!

**November 3rd Update**

Great progress is being made by the painters!  Our small (but mighty!) team of dedicated volunteers (led by Jay Kotulak) has continued to remove staples and insulation debris from the wood - as well as tidying up the massive venting system. Much more work to do!

**October 25th Update**

The last of the debris is removed and painting will begin October 27th!

**October 18th UPDATE**

WOW! Thank you to all who volunteered their time and talent! The tear out of the very dirty ceiling tile and insulation is FINISHED!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!

We are now looking for strong volunteers, who are not afraid of being on the very tall lift, to remove the remaining staples and paper pieces. There are sections already completed and the painters will begin in those areas. Please reach out to Andrea in the Rectory 402-553-7500 if you are *not afraid of heights* and would like to participate in this aspect of the project.

Gym Ceiling Project:

As you might have heard, the heavy rains and hail that came in early June caused considerable damage to the roofs of our buildings and flooding to the inside of the gym and cafeteria. While insurance has paid for a great deal of repairs, we have some uncovered costs. In order to offset that, we’re looking for volunteers that will help!

First and foremost we need to replace the gym floor. It is not practical at this time to try and piece replacement boards within the existing framework, so we need to remove the bleachers and the ceiling before we replace the entire floor.

Beginning Friday, September 30th and continuing through the weekend(s), we’re looking for teenagers and adults to help.  Our plan is to begin moving both the bleachers and the ceiling tiles/gridwork Friday at 5-9pm, continuing all day Saturday 8am-4pm and then on Sunday from 12-4pm.

We’re also looking for companies that might have lifts and dumpsters that they would be willing to lend.

We will provide goggles and hard hats, however, volunteers are asked to bring gloves and any tools needed to help dismantle the bleachers.  Strong hearts and backs are also a requirement.

There is a sign-up sheet in the back of church and please watch Facebook for a SignUp Genius link for future work days.  Please consider helping with this major project and contact the parish office if you know of any equipment that may be available to us. And if you are unable to physically volunteer and would prefer to donate to our project, please click the donate now button. Prayers for a safe and successful renovation are always needed and appreciated!
