Irish Festival ~ Sept 10 & 11
The Holy Cross Irish Festival will be Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th. Saturday night's music bash features: Clan Grady, Connor Dowling and Killigan's. Click here for the Daily Deal Omaha (2 tickets for $10)! You can sign up to volunteer at the Festival using the sign up sheets in the vestibule.
Tuesday - Friday: 8:30am and 5:30pm
Sunday: 7:30am, 9:00am and 11:00am
Saturday: 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Holy Cross Church, located in the heart of Omaha's largest Irish community, has long been known for its rich Irish tradition. In 1986, Monsignor Edward O'Donnell instituted the annual, city-wide St. Patrick's Day Mass. The Mass has always been preceded with a sing-a-long of Irish music, led by the Holy Cross choir.
People from all around the city attended, wearing green outfits and decorated hats. It is a tradition that is in existence today, sans the head gear. Also, to reflect our Irish heritage, Holy Cross Catholic Church has transformed their annual church festival into the Holy Cross Irish Festival.
