Rectory Closed

The Rectory Office will be closed Monday and Tuesday, July 3rd and 4th for the Independence Day holiday. Rectory Staff will be serving a BBQ lunch to residents of Douglas County Health Center on July 4th beginning at 10:30am. Call the Rectory, 402-553-7500, if you'd like to volunteer.

Holy Cross Church, located in the heart of Omaha's largest Irish community, has long been known for its rich Irish tradition. In 1986, Monsignor Edward O'Donnell instituted the annual, city-wide St. Patrick's Day Mass. The Mass has always been preceded with a sing-a-long of Irish music, led by the Holy Cross choir. People from all around the city attended, wearing green outfits and decorated hats. It is a tradition that is in existence today, sans the head gear.
