Welcome

Omaha, Nebraska Holy Cross Church, located in the heart of Omaha's largest Irish community, has long been known for its rich Irish tradition. In 1986, Monsignor Edward O'Donnell instituted the annual, city-wide St. Patrick's Day Mass. The Mass has always been preceded with a sing-a-long of Irish music, led by the Holy Cross choir.

People from all around the city attended, wearing green outfits and decorated hats. It is a tradition that is in existence today, sans the head gear.wearing green outfits and decorated hats. It is a tradition that is in existence today, sans the head gear. Also, to reflect our Irish heritage, Holy Cross Catholic Church has transformed their annual church festival into the Holy Cross Irish Festival.
