Thankful Giver Campaign

Our parish, like many others is confronted with ever increasing costs. General maintenance and repairs for our aging campus is vital to provide a beacon for our midtown community. Please click here to read Father Salanitro's letter and prayerfully reflect on your level of sacrificial giving to the parish. As always, I keep all of you and your families in my prayers. Again, I am very thankful for each of you and all that you do and for your continued support. ~God Bless, Rev. Carl A. Salanitro

Welcome

Holy Cross Church, located in the heart of Omaha's largest Irish community, has long been known for its rich Irish tradition. In 1986, Monsignor Edward O'Donnell instituted the annual, city-wide St. Patrick's Day Mass. The Mass has always been preceded with a sing-a-long of Irish music, led by the Holy Cross choir.

People from all around the city attended, wearing green outfits and decorated hats. It is a tradition that is in existence today, sans the head gear. Also, to reflect our Irish heritage, Holy Cross Catholic Church has transformed their annual church festival into the Holy Cross Irish Festival.
